Neah Bay July 23 &24 2011

THE SALMON FISHING WAS AWESOME THIS WEEKEND!
Chuck, Ben, Dick and I fished Neah bay this weekend. On Saturday the salmon fishing could not have been any hotter we had fish on the whole time. As soon as you put the gear in the water it was fish on!  Lots and lots of triples and many quads!  The crew just kept on cranking all day long! The fish were swarming on the surface and they seemed to be hitting anything we put in the water! Most of the fish  were silvers but we also caught plenty of nice kings and pinks .
 It was an epic day!
On Sunday we fished the Canadian side. Fishing was a little  slower but still great with lots of triples and a few quads. After easy limits of good kings, silvers and pinks  we switched gears and caught our limits of lingcod, halibut and a nice batch of rock fish also.
The water was flat all weekend but the fog was very thick at times  witch made fishing right next  to the giant ships a little interesting  even with radar and AIS,  but the great fishing was well worth the effort. When the fog did lift it defiantly raised our comfort level.

La push 7-16 and 7-17-11

Tobin, killer Bee, Jeff W and I fished La Push Saturday and Sunday July 16th & 17th
The weather was good and the water was  calm most of the weekend.
Lots of life out there! whales, porpoises ,  birds, sea lions, and lots of bait.
On Saturday  we had to work  very hard  to get our limits of kings but we had plenty of action  on the pinks while doing so. We had our best king action while fishing very deep 300 to 400 feet of wire out on the rigger
Sunday was a very different story the  king fishing was very good we caught easy limits of good kings early and had time to head south for our limits of Lingcod, a nice batch of black cod, and some large rock fish. An added bonus to the weekend was Quillayute days. While we did spend most of the day on the water we did benefit  from the good food and a great fireworks show.

July,4 weekend Neah bay & La push

I fished  the ocean Thursday june,30 through July 4 ,  we had a 4 man crew Thursday – Sunday and a 3 man crew on Monday. I was joined By Rob S, Jason A, Don C, Rob  L , and Dave S throughout the extended weekend. The weather was great! We had dry days and calm seas almost the whole time

We started our weekend  at neah bay on Thursday for the area 4 halibut opener. Thursdays  fishing started good and continued that way all day. We
ended the day with a very nice batch of fish. Our halibut were 80, 50, 45, and 40 pounds  we also had a nice limit of lings with our biggest  ones  in the upper 20’s  and we had our limits of rock fish to complete the day.

On Friday it was off to Canada  where we found limits of halibut and salmon. The silver fishing was hot! we had several times where we had multiple fish on at the same time and we even found a few kings. We caught fish on the top , mid water and down deep it seemed like we could not go wrong.

Saturday  was back to Canada. Fishing was a bit slower but still good we limited on  a mixed  bag of silvers and kings and also caught our limits of rock fish

Sunday we headed to area 2 for limits of black cod/rock fish. Our black cod were very nice sized, biggest ones were right at 20 pounds.

Monday we headed back up north to area 3 where were found some great salmon fishing. It was red hot! We caught easy limits of kings, silvers and pinks!  The kings seemed to be deep but the silvers and pinks seemed to be all over the water column . we also picked up our limits of rock fish to end the the day

It was a great 5 days of fishing,  I cannot wait to get back out on the water!
