Westport kings and bass

 

The king bite is going strong at Westport. The overall conditions were very good this weekend but the wind did blow a bit on Monday

Although the king  fishing has been very good with limits every day it’s not a given. You have to be at the right place at the right time with the right gear, one days a 5” spoon is killing them, the next it’s a pink hoochy , then it’s a glow hoochy,  then a bucktail, if you are not catching keep changing the gear till you are. Our best results this week were in 265 feet of water with the riggers at 245 feet, a few miles north of Westport. There are not a ton of silvers around but we have been finding some in 50 feet of water a few miles north of the casino both the royal flash and cut plug herring are working well for the silvers. The bass fishing has been very good, it’s not taking us long to get limits when we fish for them. The king fishing has been very good and I expect it to stay that way for a couple more weeks.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Neah bay deep water kings

We had good action on nice sized kings  at neah bay this week . The overall weather was very good but it did get very rough Sunday night

We had or best results fishing 250 to 380 down on the riggers in 400 to 500 feet of water off of Umatila.

Bucktails, hoochies, and spoons were all working well.   The pinks and silvers were thick in a little closer at 220 feet of water 180’ down on the riggers.

The fish are getting bigger each week and there are lots of them around.  The near shore bass fishing was also very good, they came fast when we found them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Neah bay kings!

We caught lots of kings, silvers, pinks, and bottom fish at Neah bay this weekend. The overall fishing was very good  and there were lots of kings around but it was not supper easy to get the big ones this week. you really needed to be in the right place at the  right time with the right gear to  nail them. Once we got them dialed in they came very fast!

The bass fishing was also very  good we even had one bass jump out of  the water to grab a jig. We did not spend a lot of time on lings this week but there were a few nice ones around!

There are tons of the pinks jumping  at the mouth of Neah bay you do not have to go far if you want to load up on pinks.

I expect the  salmon fishing to  get even better in the next few weeks
