ilwaco tuna!

We had a great time at ilwaco this weekend!
The tuna are back and biting in good numbers again.
Our overall weather was good but it did blow a bit  from the south on Monday.
The fish are moving around a bit each day and the conditions seem to be changing every day.
One day we stop on bird patches, the next we see jumpers, then no birds or jumpers and we are starting our stops on the troll , the next day they will not hit the troll but if you drop bait on sonar marks it is game on.  just keep trying till they bite.
one of the high lights from this weekend was having a school of 30+ sunfish swim up to the boat
I am looking forward to the rest of the tuna season!

Thank God for bottom fish!

Last week we had to work a bit for our salmon but we were still able  to catch some nice batches of fish, this week the salmon fishing at westport was very slow. There are still some nice fish around but the king fishing is patchy at best.

I did not tuna fish this week but the reports were  very poor, most boats only catching a hand full or less and the top boats getting in the teen’s some days

The  bright spot this week has been the bottom fishing. we have had very fast action with four or more fish on at many times this week.
