Neah bay halibut, lingcod, & bottom fish

We had a great time at Neah bay this week. The overall weather  and water conditions were very good but  we did have thick fog at times and  it did get a bit bumpy in a few areas due to strong currents.
The overall fishing was very good , we had nice catches of both off shore and near shore fish this week, we caught most of our fish on jigs, but bait was working well at times also.
I expect the bottom fish to continue to be good for the next several weeks.

Westport halibut, lingcod ,and bottom fish

We had a great weekend at Westport!

The overall fishing was excellent.

The weather was less then prefect on Sunday ( windy and choppy with some fog) but the fishing was well worth the added effort

We had very fast action, for  halibut, lingcod and rock fish. The fishing could not have got much faster.

The Westport, deep water halibut and lingcod seasons are over for the year, but the near shore lings and bottom fish will be open till October and the mid water lings will be opening june 16th

I hope to see you out there!

Ilwaco Halibut & Sable fish (black cod)

We had a great time at ilwaco this week

The overall weather was very good, light winds and not much of a swell

The overall fishing was good also

the high light of the trip was having a very large shark eat a halibut we had on in one bite just below the surface next to the boat

We were able to catch easy limits of halibut each day. Both  bait and jigs were working very well for the halibut

The sable fish (black cod) were hit or miss, one day it was hot as it could be and the next they were gone.

Westport halibut, lingcod and bass!

The fishing was very good at Westport this week. The weather was less than perfect and downright nasty at times but we battled through it and were rewarded with excellent fishing

We had very fast action for halibut, lings and bass this week. it was very normal for all four rods to be hooked up at the same time,  and many times we had 8 fish on with only four lines in the water ( 2 on every rod)

The fishing could not have got much faster.

Jigs continue to be our top producers but we have been adding salmon bellies as needed

The bottom fishing along the whole Washington coast should continue the be good for the next several weeks

Neah bay halibut, lingcod and bottom fish

We had a great  time fishing Neah bay this weekend. It is always fun to talk with so many great people up there.

The overall weather was very nice this weekend but it did get a little bumpy on Friday.

The overall fishing was very good, we had fast action most of the time  but did have a few slow periods.

We did very well with both jigs and bait, but  the jigs were working best for us  this weekend.

While fishing near shore we did very well on lancer eels, those things work great!

I expect the bottom fishing to continue to be for the next several weeks, I hope to see you out there!
