Neah Bay Lingcod and Rockfish APRIL 28 & 29

Matt S, Mark H, Aaron L, &  I fished Neah bay this weekend. The weather was rough on Saturday but we were able to fish through  it and things got much nicer on Sunday.
We had steady action on midgrade lings most of the weekend and were able to find a few big  ones mixed in. We also had fast action on large rock fish and were able to limit each day.
We had our best luck  this trip on a combination of jigs, grubs and herring.

La Push Lingcod & Rockfish April 21 & 22

My dad Chuck, Ralph T,  Mark H. and I  fished out of  La push this weekend.
The weather conditions were very good all weekend
Our trip started with calm seas and got even smoother as the weekend went on
The overall fishing this weekend was good but not great
We were able to catch  limits of lingcod and rockfish but had to  work a bit harder than I expected for them.
We had equal results with both jigs and bait with  no  one item out producing the others.

La Push Lings April 14 & 15 2012

We  had a four man crew at La Push this weekend. I was joined by Edward T, Brian S , and Pete C from river bend jigs & bait.
Conditions were on the rough side on Saturday but much nicer on Sunday.
The lingcod fishing was great this weekend we were able to catch easy limits of very nice lings both days.
The sea bass fishing was very tough for almost everyone this weekend, it seemed like they just did not want to bite.
We had to work very hard for every one we did get.

La push Lingcod & Rock fish April 7 - 8, 2012

We had a four man crew at La push this weekend, Bob L, Mike  M, and Matt C
The overall weather was good this weekend  although it was a bit breezy on Saturday.
It was flat calm on Sunday and almost a perfect day.
we had fast action most of the weekend and were able to catch easy limits of lingcod and rock fish each day.
We also tested out the new rock fish release tool the SeaQualizer it works great! I would strongly recommend that everyone uses one of these on there boat

Costal steelhead 3-24-12 & 3-25-12

Matt S. and I fished one of the  coastal rivers this weekend.
The conditions were perfect! Sunny and warm with almost no wind. We could not have asked for a better weekend!
The water had been high for almost two weeks and dropped back in just in time for us to fish it.
The water had 3 to 4 feet  of visibility  and was slowly clearing and dropping all weekend
We hooked a total of 28 steelhead, landed 22 and also caught several good sized cutthroat
Most of our fish were in the 6 to 7 pound range but we did get a few bigger ones in the low to mid teens
We caught a little over half of our fish on jig and bobber and the rest on drift gear.
This was a great way to start off the first weekend of spring!

Central Washington trout March 10 & 11

Cory and I spent the weekend fishing a couple of our favorite central Washington trout waters. The overall conditions were good in the mornings but got quite windy in the afternoons with gusts  over 30mph both days. There was not much surface activity this weekend but we were still able to catch lots of trout in the  1 to 4 pound range with our biggest being  a nice 6 pound rainbow  and we also had one  much larger get away after a great fight.
The majority of our fish this weekend were rainbows but we also caught a couple tiger trout and one brown.

Victoria Halibut March 3 & 4 2012

We launched from Port Angles and  ran over to the Canadian side near  Victoria for our first halibut trip of the year.
We had to deal with some 30+ kt winds and a healthy population of dog fish, but we fished hard and were rewarded with a couple of nice halibut.  The overall halibut fishing seemed a  bit slow  this weekend, but we did  see a couple other halibut caught. We had our best results on a combination of salmon and herring.
