La push monster lings!

We fished la push  Saturday and Sunday April 2 & 3 the overall weather and water conditions were very good but  the wind, rain &  white caps did kick up Sunday night.

The overall fishing was very good. There seems to be a good number of big lings around this spring.  We did  very well on the lings with a combination of jigs and bait. There does not seem to be a ton of black bass around right now, but there were plenty of yellow tail, blue and widow rock fish to fill our boxes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sol Duc Steelhead

I had a great time  fishing the Sol Duc this weekend

The river was at  7 boards  and in great shape, 7 feet of vis with a nice steelhead  green tint. Although the weather did get a bit nasty at times on Sunday the overall weather was better than I had expected

We had our best results fishing rubber worms and free drifting shrimp.  We  should be getting  another batch of fresh fish with lots of rain coming in the near future.
 A word of caution the loop rapids about  2 miles below the hatchery is a lot worse then It has ever been  before.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Late November kings, silvers and steelhead!

The over all fishing and water conditions were very good  this weekend we even  landed a double! The weather has been very cold and dry. The Humptulips   has been on a steady drop and is now running at 600 cfs  with 6 feet of visibility. The temps should be rising and there is rain in the forecast so it should continue to fish good for at least the next couple weeks.

The kings just keep on coming ( all kings must be released) but there are still a lot of them around and many are still nice and bright.

We are also catching a mix of bright and darks silvers with some very big ones mixed in, more fresh silvers will continue to enter the rivers in good numbers for a couple more weeks and the hatchery steelhead are now here in catchable numbers and the steelhead fishing will continue to get better throughout the month of December.

We had our best results this week on eggs, spinners, and twitching  jigs but heard of fish being caught on jig and bobber and free drifting gear also.

Thanksgiving salmon

The rivers are back in great shape and there are still lots of bright kings  around but they must be released. There are A fair number of both hatchery and wild silvers around and more silvers & steelhead are showing up each day. Eggs, spinners, and jigs are working good right now.

 

Great river fishing for silvers and kings!

The hump is back open and fishing excellent.
The silvers are finally here  in good numbers and  lots of bight kings have moved in also.
Saturday was some of the best river fishing I had seen in a long time, the fish were very aggressive, we had a king chase down and exploded on a bobber and  egg set up while we were retrieving it in at  full speed! We caught a bunch of bright silvers on spinners and lots of nice kings on eggs.
I expect the fishing to continue to be good for the next couple of weeks.
