Neah bay halibut, lingcod, rock fish & sables

We had a great trip at Neah bay this week

The weather could not have been much better, sunny and calm most of the weekend.

Despite strong currents the fishing was outstanding, we had very fast action on halibut , lingcod, and bass and even had a couple sable fish mixed in.

We had our best luck on jigs this week but also caught fish on  bait too.

The bottom fishing should continue to be very good for the next several weeks.

I have one spot open this Sunday june 18^th at Neah bay for near shore lingcod and bottom fish $250 each ( this is the only open spot I have  for salt water right now.)

Neah bay halibut, lingcod, cabezon, & rockfish!

We had a great week at neah bay
The weather was great and the fishing was outstanding
We had calm seas most of the week , small swells, light winds, no fog and very little rain or mist.
The off shore days were fast action with a very nice grade of halibut, and good fishing for nice lings with some big ones mixed in.
The near shore days were steady action on bass, lingcod, and cabezon ( with limits of bass and lings each day)
Most of our fish this weekend were caught on jigs but we did use some bait at times also. Color was making a big difference this week. if one color was not working we would keep switching colors till we found one that was .  The  bottom fishing on the whole coast should continue to be good till we switch our focus to salmon on july 1.

Neah bay halibut, lingcod, & bottom fish

We had a great time at Neah bay this week. The overall weather  and water conditions were very good but  we did have thick fog at times and  it did get a bit bumpy in a few areas due to strong currents.

The overall fishing was very good , we had nice catches of both off shore and near shore fish this week, we caught most of our fish on jigs, but bait was working well at times also.

I expect the bottom fish to continue to be good for the next several weeks.

 

Westport halibut, lingcod ,and bottom fish

We had a great weekend at Westport!

The overall fishing was excellent.

The weather was less then prefect on Sunday ( windy and choppy with some fog) but the fishing was well worth the added effort

We had very fast action, for  halibut, lingcod and rock fish. The fishing could not have got much faster.

The Westport, deep water halibut and lingcod seasons are over for the year, but the near shore lings and bottom fish will be open till October and the mid water lings will be opening june 16^th
