halibut,lingcod, sable fish,rockfish and more!

We fished Westport ( halibut, lingcod and bottom fish)  and ilwaco (halibut and sable fish) this week and fishing was good at both locations

 At times the fishing was smoking hot and at other times we had to work to get  them to bite.

The weather this week was a lot like the fishing, blowing like crazy one day and flat calm the next

Jigs were working best for us  this week, the upcoming weather looks great and I expect the bottom fishing  to continue to be good for the next several weeks

Neah bay lingcod and bottom fish

The overall weather and water conditions have been very good

Both the lingcod and rockfish have been biting well.

We have been catching easy limits of mid-sized lings with a few big ones mixed in.

I expect the bottom fishing to continue to be good for the next several weeks.

we even had a few birds stop by to say hi.

 

 

 

Feels good to be back on the saltwater!

It feels good to be back on the saltwater, we were able to catch a small break in the weather and made a run off shore Saturday and Sunday in area 3

The overall fishing was  good but we had to search around a bit to find them

We had nice limits of lings and bass both days, I am looking forward to the weeks to come!

The overall weather was excellent this week sunny and warm

The rivers are very low and clear but that will be changing soon!

The overall fishing is good but not great there is a mix of kings, silvers and chum around,  there are tons of fish in the river but we have been having to work to find biters.

Eggs have been working best for us but the bites have been light and the fish are not holding on to the baits very long

the fish have been 40 percent bright 60 percent dark  . We have a ton of rain in the forecast,  that will likely blow out our coastal rivers. When the rivers come back into shape the fishing should be hot!

back on the rivers!

I have put my ocean boat away and bought  a new toy ( drift boat)

we fished the Aberdeen area last weekend, the overall weather was great sunny and warm!

The rivers were all  very low and clear  but there is a good number of fish around.

We are catching kings silvers and chum. There is a mix of bright and dark fish around , but luckily most of the bitters have been bright.

We could use some rain to spread the fish out a bit and it looks like it will be coming soon.

I expect the salmon fishing to be very good for the next several weeks.
