ilwaco tuna!

We had a great time  fishing  ilwaco this weekend.

The overall weather and water conditions on Friday and Saturday were excellent!

The tuna were biting very good this week  we caught most or our fish on live bait working bird patches and jumpers, but we also caught a good number trolling  x raps, zukers, and eels

We had to cancel Sundays trip due to weather  but things are looking good towards the end of the week.

ilwaco tuna salmon and bottom fish

We had a fun time at ilwaco this weekend

The overall tuna fishing is still a bit on the slow side. The fish are out there and they are bigger than normal but it has been tough to get them to bite the way I want them to.

The overall salmon fishing has been pretty good on the north beach in 30 feet of water but the ocean salmon fishing closes at Westport and ilwaco tomorrow.

I expect the salmon fishing to get hot in the Columba in the next few days. the bottom fishing was very  good this weekend, we caught lots of big rock fish.

Neah Bay salmon and bottom fish 8-12-17

we had a fun weekend  at Neah bay. the over all weather was very nice the over all fishing was very good  we had fast action on silvers and pinks with some nice kings mixes in. spoons and hoochies were working very well for the salmon

the over all bottom fishing was good also,. grubs, lancers, and shrimp flies were  all working very well.

The overall fishing was very good

The weather this week was great, but it did blow hard Friday afternoon, and we did have some think fog and smoke at times.

We were able to catch limits of salmon and bottom fish each day

The salmon fishing was very good we had very fast action on small to medium sized kings and silvers , the marked rate on the silvers is running about 50% right now

We had our best luck for salmon this week on hoochies, and spoons but also caught a few on herring.

The overall bottom fishing was very good, we had fast action on the rockfish, good action on lings with some big ones mixed in, and  had some very nice Cabazon .

I expect the fishing to continue to be good as long as we do not get any rain.

The tuna reports are still on the slow side but it could pick-up any day

Neah bay salmon and bottom fish

We had a great time at neah bay this week!

The overall weather was very good, but the fog was an issue at times, the water has been flat most of the time with a very small swell and almost no wind waves.

The overall fishing for both salmon and bottom fish has be  good

We were able to catch limits of salmon, lingcod and bottom fish each day .

There is still tons of life at swiftsure, lots of bait, lots of whales, lots or birds, and lots of sea lions .We had fast action on small to medium sized salmon with a few bigger ones mixed in

The bite for the kings has been on and off one day we had a limit of 12 kings by 7am and the next we had to work for them

There are lots of silvers and some pinks around now, the numbers of silvers is making it tougher to catch kings.

We had our best luck with hoochies and spoons for both kings and silvers

The bottom fishing has also been good . Small grubs have been working best For the rock fish and biggers jigs have been getting both lings and Cabazon.

I expect the salmon fishing  to continue to be good  for a couple more weeks

over all tuna reports are still slow but should be picking up any day.
