I fished Ilwaco for Tuna on Saturday 8-7-10 and Sunday 8-8-10 we had a four man crew on Saturday and a three man crew on Sunday. It has been a very strange year for tuna ! The water is very cold not many birds, no bait, and no jumpers but yet the tuna are there and there are there in good numbers. The boats doing the best are all focusing on live bait because the top water troll bite has been very slow. Many of the boats have been driving right past the tuna while searching for warmer water. The only sine’s I saw this weekend that the tuna are there were the water was a nice blue color and we were catching them!
