Wesport Tuna

We had a five man crew at Westport September 14th & 15th.
The overall weather and water conditions were very good flat water and very little wind.
We did have a lightning storm  pass by  us Sunday witch  give us a few moments of concern when our vhf antennas started to crackle and hum, not sure what that meant but I decided  it would be a good idea to turn off all our electronics for a while until the storm passed.
The overall fishing was very good this weekend we caught a total of 104 tuna
On Saturday we caught 47. The fishing started out very good but did not last long, by 11am the bite died.  We picked up a fish or two here and there the rest of the day but could not get anything steady going.
On Sunday the fishing also started out quickly and just when it seemed like they were going to go dead  the bite came back on.  We had good steady action till around 2:30 then the bite dropped off. We ended the day with 57 Albacore
We caught most of our fish  on live bait by hitting bird patches and converting on troll fish. Our best troll action was on x raps. we also caught a few while working irons on our bait stops.
